Anoche estuvimos viendo el musical el musical “El Rey León” en el teatro Lyceum de Londres, en pleno Covent Garden. En España, el espectáculo se representa en Madrid, en el teatro Lope de Vega. Perfecto, para pasar un día con la familia si te gusta mucho la película.
Los personajes están muy bien caracterizados y es curioso ver la reproducción de Timón y Pumba. La canción más estremecedora es “They live in you” y otras como «Hakuna Matata» y «El Círculo de la Vida» te llevan al pasado. En nuestra opinión, la primera parte se hace monótona, pero a partir del descanso los sentimientos comienzan a florecer.
El musical es entretenido, pero al vestuario le falta colorido y una puesta en escena con más movimiento y sorprendente. ¿El precio acorde con su calidad? La obra transmite emoción ya que es todo un clásico, pero no es tan impactante. En cualquier caso, es una experiencia teatral única para los más pequeños.
We saw the Lion King musical last night at the Lyceum theatre in London’s Covent Garden. The show is also held at the López de Vega’s theatre in Madrid, Spain. It’s perfect for a family day out if you love the film.
The characters were very real and well-played, Timon and Pumbaa in particular. The nicest song was ‘They live in you’ and others such as ‘Hakuna Matata’ and ‘Circle of life’ take you back in time. In our opinion, the first part was a bit long, but after the interval feelings started to bloom.
The Lion Kings is a classic family film, so it was really nice to see how they brought it to life. However, we thought the customes and puppets are not colourful enough and the performance lacked surprise and engagement. Does it worth the money? It offers a powerful story that will delight children, but adults might get bored.
